Leidseplein (Leidse Square)

Nightlife

The square lights up in the evening and seems to invite the colorful crowds of people to enjoy the mixture of bizarre neon lighting, exotic scents and live music on offer. Stadsschouwburg (city theatre)

The neo-renaissance building hosts the city theatre (Stadsschouwburg). Amsterdam's footbal team Ajax uses the theatre's balcony to greet supporters after winning important games.
