Brouwerij 't IJ
A beer tasting room and brewery located in a windmill
A real brewery located in a former pubic bath house next to a windmill, not far from the Dappermarkt (daily street market). It's rather a tasting room than a pub and very special to visit when you're in Amsterdam.
Type of beers
From the tasting room you can directly enter the brewery and see the brew-kettles and casks in which the local Amsterdam beers are brewed. 7 beers are brewed all the year round: Plzen (5%), Vlo (7%), IJ Wit (7%), Natte (6.5%), Zatte (8%), Struis (9%), Columbus (9%).
The draught beer range varies with the season: Bock (6.5%) in autumn, IJndejaars (9%) in the winter, and Paasij (7%) in spring.
As it is located somehow on a remote location outside the city centre so there are no tourists hordes but mainly local people visiting the place. In the summer you can sit outside in the sun. Check out the opening hours before going there!
Tours
Tours every Friday at 16:00. It's free and there's no need to book in advance.
How to get there?
