A special staircase takes you from the bar area to the bisto-like restaurant on the first floor. Previously was this space the gambling palace of famous underworld crime figure Frits van de Wereld, who was one of the first major hashish importers.

On the menu

Dutch oysters | Croquettes with mustard | Dry aged Irish beef burger | Fresh ravioli filled with parsnip and rocket, beurre noisette & Parmesan | Venison steak, parsley root puree, chestnuts, red pointed cabbage, Brussels sprouts & game gravy with star anise | Lemon-pistachio cake... and more

Who was Mata Hari?

A century ago, on February 13, 1917, Mata Hari was arrested in her Paris hotel room in Plaza Athénée on charges of spying for the Germans. After two days of interrogation the French were convinced that she was a very dangerous spy. Six months later she was executed. She became an icon of good and evil, with a mesmerizing aura, especially for senior men with authority.
