National Opera & Ballet

Het Muziektheater is part of the complex of buildings on Waterlooplein called popularly Stopera, a combination of the Amsterdam City Hall (Stadhuis) and Music Theatre (opera).

Het Muziektheater is the home to De Nationale Opera (Dutch National Opera) and Het Nationale Ballet (Dutch National Ballet). They do not just present their Amsterdam performances here, but they also produce them at Het Muziektheater.

Het Muziektheater is also the home base for the Het Balletorkest , the Dutch Ballet- and Symphonic Orchestra.

Dutch National Opera & Ballet has one hall with 1600 seats. There are also several lounges, overlooking the Amstel River.

When to buy tickets?

For all performances individual tickets are put on sale three months before the premiere of that production.
