Go for the fantistic food, not for a romantic dinner
Known by the Dutch film "Oysters at Nam Kee's" with Katja Schuurman and Egbert Jan Weber. Nam Kee has an excellent Chinese cuisine.It is the place for good eating and fast service, both in an authentic Chinese way. The restaurant's many Chinese visitors are a testimony to Nam Kee's authentic Chinese kitchen.
Do not walk away from the interior. The restaurant itself looks like a white tile palace, but the food is served fast and the quality is outstanding. Nam Kee has two locations in Amsterdam's Old Centre near Nieuwmarkt, which are situated close to each other on Geldersekade and Zeedijk, and one, which has recently opened, at Marie Heinekenplein in De Pijp.
Recommended dishes are: Tja Sieuw, Chicken in Black Bean sauce, Bami Goreng, Peking Duck
