The trattoria menu offers good meat and fish dishes, homemade desserts and has delicious pasta's. It is not the casual Italian but more like a modern restaurant. But you can also go there for the pizza, which has a thin crust, is baked in a wood oven and generously garnished with fresh ingredients. Their specialty is the Yam Yam pizza with biological smoked ham, mozzarella, tomato sauce, rucola, Parmesan and trufflesauce. Simply delicious!
The decor is simple with a casual and clean feel to it. The restaurant is split into two spaces with an open kitchen and the wood oven for pizza prominently featured behind the nicely white tiled counter. It has a dense feel to it as both rooms are filled with lots of small tables. In the summer there is a terrace outside.
Yam Yam is a favourite of locals as well as of travellers. Well worth the trip just outside (west) of the Jordaan, but be sure to book in advance as it is usually quite busy.
