Amsterdam Sights

House of the Jazz in Amsterdam since 1974

Square to the Muziekgebouw aan 't IJ is a 'black box' on piles with in it the Bimhuis, venue for jazz, improvisation and world music. A comfortable hall with a spectacular view at the old city and a roomy café with a view at the IJ harbour.

Celebrities and young talents

Everyone plays in the Bimhuis, from stars to amateurs, from mainstream to avant-garde.

Muziekgebouw aan 't IJ and Bimhuis are located on the Eastern Docklands of the IJ Waterfront at walking distance from the old centre of Amsterdam and just a few minutes away from Central Station. The Bimhuis can be reached from the main entrance via a route through the interior of Muziekgebouw aan 't IJ, but it also has a separate entrance.
