Foodism is a child-friendly informal restaurant close to the cozy Jordaan area in Amsterdam West. The restaurant is known for serving simple and healthy food, in an elegant style.
Compose your own meal with Foodismo's
Foodismo's are small meals - from every corner of the Mediterranean - which you can combine to create a full menu. They are an invention of chef Pedja Simsic who started his career in the Japanese macrobiotic cuisine: a balanced way to really prepare tasty food by avoiding the use of highly processed or refined foods. With his Slavic background he has cultivated this cooking style to a more Mediterranean taste.
The restaurant offers different kinds of "classico" and "grilled" foodismo's with original - sometimes funny - names, like: wagstaffs' password, the end of chicken as we know it, capo di tutti capi, mumija iummija, pasta krit harakiri vega, miss shell & her five friends, naked, and brown eyed girl.
In addition, Foodism also has a large choice of salads and vegetarian dishes on the menu.
Balkan grill food
Among the grilled foodismo's are some traditional Balkan specialities like pljeskavica (homemade burger), ćevapčići (minced beef and lamb rolls), punjena paprika (peppers stuffed with spicy minced beef and rice) and prebranac (white beans from the oven in spicy sauce).
Daily menu
Foodism is locally known for its daily changing menu for the little price of € 8.50. Each day a different fresh daily special under the name of "TheCookInLove" is being served and announced via @thecookinlove on Twitter.
Children's menu
Foodism is also a very child-friendly restaurant with child-friendly opening hours. The ambiance is lively and there's a children's menu with juice, chef's pasta or potatoes from the oven with chicken and an ice cream dessert.
