Rembrandtplein POPULAR NIGHTLIFE CENTRE
The Rembrandtplein (Rembrandt Square) is one of Amsterdam's most popular centres for nightlife and is known for its many cafés, terraces, clubs, and hotels. There are bars with people singing along to Dutch folk songs at the top of their voices, and a few large discos.
The square, named after the famous painter Rembrandt van Rijn, used to be a butter market in former days. In the middle of the square is a statue of Rembrandt.
Throughout the year (except for the winter months), the terraces are packed with people enjoying a drink and watching the world go by.
How to get there?
Tram 4, 9, and 14 have stops at the Rembrandtplein.
