Noordermarkt

Beautiful square dominated by the Northern Church. It is a busy and cosy place on Saturdays and Mondays when a market for organic food and a flea market are held.

Dominated by the Noorderkerk (Northern Church, 1620-1623) the square is lined by cafés and restaurants. Markets are held on the square every Monday and Saturday. The square borders the Prinsengracht (Prince's Canal), one of Amsterdam's main canals.

Flea market

Every Monday morning from 9am to 1pm a great flea market (Lapjesmarkt) is held in the famous Jordaan quarter. You can find antiques, fabrics, records and piles of second-hand clothing.

Organic farmer's market

On Saturday (from 9am to 4pm) you will find a biological food market at the Noordermarkt, offering fresh ecological products. You can find organic fruits and vegetables, oils, herbs, candles and so on.

The Jordaan itself is a former working class neighborhood, which now has plenty of nice bars, restaurants and shops.
