The monumental building has a beautiful interior. It has 2 large executive suites with a view on the Prinsengracht at the front of the house. The 6 large suites and rooms at the back of the house look out on an elegantly styled garden. All rooms are equipped with air conditioning.

Rooms

Each of the 8 deluxe rooms and suites have been designed individually in a specific style: a mix of antiques with modern accents. All suites have been furnished with carefully selected antique and contemporary items such as beautiful settees, large comfortable chairs, elegant tables and stylish cabinets and modern and classical art.

The suites have names of artists: Schubert, Liszt, Picasso, Tolkien, Shakespeare, Von Goethe, Mahler and Franz Liszt.

History

Prinsengracht 717 was inhabited for many years by a prosperous sugar trader. The rear part of the house was built first and dates from the 17th century, but in 1810 the property was extended towards the Prinsengracht to demonstrate the owner's wealth to his fellow citizens.

At that time, the rear of the house still served as a 'sugar mill'. The neighbouring properties were also under the trader's ownership and served as depositories for the raw and refined sugar.

During much of the 20th century the property fulfilled a social purpose, after which in 1996-97 it was completely restored Hotel Seven One Seven was opened.

The room rates include breakfast, afternoon tea, drinks from the minibar and a selection of house wines. Breakfast can be provided eather in your room, downstairs in the breakfast room or in the summer on the Patio.
