Motel One Amsterdam, part of a German budget design hotel chain, is an affordable 3-star hotel near trade fair and convention centre RAI.
It's a little out of the centre, but the main sights are easily accessed by public transport.

The "One Lounge" is a lobby, breakfast lounge and bar in one, covering almost the entire ground floor. With tulip-shaped chairs and an abundance of crystal chandeliers on the ceiling this cosmopolitan hotel bar, with free WiFi access, is open around the clock (24h).
The hotel has fast and easy transport connections to the airport (by train) and city centre (by metro).
